Shortcut page¶

The Shortcut page allows you to customize settings related to the shortcuts.

Display a tray icon to the taskbar checkbox¶

Displays an EmEditor tray icon on the Windows Taskbar notification area.

Display a tray icon when Windows starts checkbox¶

Displays an EmEditor tray icon next time Windows starts.

Display a tray icon when EmEditor launches checkbox¶

Displays an EmEditor tray icon next time EmEditor launches.

EmEditor Quick Start checkbox¶

Quickly launches EmEditor while the EmEditor tray icon is displayed. If this is checked, a hidden EmEditor window launches at the same time as the EmEditor tray icon. When you start EmEditor, the hidden EmEditor window switches to the visible state, and EmEditor appears to launch quickly.

Add EmEditor to HTML editor list on web browsers checkbox¶

Adds EmEditor to the HTML editor list used by Web browsers.

Add a shortcut to the Windows 11 context menu in Explorer checkbox¶

This option adds a shortcut to the modern context menu in Windows 11 Explorer. To use this feature, the EmEditor tray icon must be visible in the notification area of the Windows taskbar. This checkbox is enabled only when all the following conditions are satisfied:

The operating system is Windows 11.
A Desktop Installer version of EmEditor is running.
The Display a tray icon to the task bar checkbox is set.
The Display a tray icon when Windows starts checkbox is set.
The Add a shortcut to the context menu in Explorer checkbox is set.

Customize tray icon button¶

Displays Customize Tray Icon dialog box, where you can customize the system tray icon settings.

Reset button¶

Resets to default settings.

The following dialog box is also available through this dialog box.
