The Highlight (2) page allows you to set properties related to highlight (2).

Comments group box - Begin text box

Select the beginning string for multiple line comments.

Comments group box - End text box

Select the end string for multiple line comments.

Comments group box - Line Comment (1) text box

Specify a string that designates a line comment.

Comments group box - Line Comment (2) text box

Specify a string that designates a line comment.

String Enclosed by Quotation Marks group box - Single Quotation Marks ['...'] check box

If this box is checked, strings enclosed with single quotation marks will be highlighted.

String Enclosed by Quotation Marks group box - Double Quotation Marks ["..."] check box

If this box is checked, strings enclosed with double quotation marks will be highlighted.

String Enclosed by Quotation Marks group box - Continue to Next Line check box

If this box is checked, quoted strings may span multiple lines.

String Enclosed by Quotation Marks group box - Escape Character text box

Specify an escape character for quotation marks.

Script group box - Begin text box

Specify the beginning string for scripts.

Script group box - End text box

Specify the end string for scripts.

Special Syntax drop-down list box

Select from the following.

(None)

Uses a file unrelated to HTML.

HTML

Uses an HTML or ASP file. It uses the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, and Script configurations.

HTML-Embedded

Uses script languages such as JSP or PHP, HTML embedded language. It uses the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, and Script configurations.

Markdown

Uses Markdown for special bold and italic emphasis.

Highlight Matching Tag check box

Highlights inside a tag and the matching tag at the cursor in XHTML and XML documents. This feature works only when a document is a well-formed XML document. The feature may not work if ending tags are missing from a document such as an old HTML document.

Highlight Matching Brackets check box

Highlight the matching brace (parenthesis or bracket).

Auto-Complete Brackets/Quotation Marks check box

Auto-completes brackets and quotation marks.

Bracket Pairs list box

The list of bracket pairs that can be auto-completed. Checked items are auto-completed while unchecked items are not auto-completed. You can't add a new pair of brackets.

Reset button

Resets to default settings. The Reset dialog box will be displayed and will allow you to copy from another configuration.
